TO BE SEEN IS TO BE KNOWN
Role models play an important part in any society, providing examples that younger generations can follow to become ‘themselves’. And nowhere is this more important than for members of a minority group within a wider society, where acceptance has not been an easy path. This selection of ‘trial-blazers’ from the sisterhood are an example of those whose ‘coming out’ – becoming themselves – has not interfered with their achieving their ambitions.
