At their recent AGM, Australia’s travel association GALTA elected new members onto their board.
The 2024 AGM for GALTA, Australia’s LGBTQIA+ Travel Association, was recently held at the inspiring Qtopia Sydney.
There was a great turnout from members including BridgeClimb Sydney, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association, Point of Difference Travel & Events, Planetdwellers, Harbour City Bears and Pyrmont Chamber of Commerce.
High-profile former rugby league player and champion for LGBTQIA+ rights, Ian Roberts, a Director of Qtopia Sydney, also joined the AGM proceedings along with a member networking event following the meeting.
GALTA is a national not-for-profit membership organisation with members from around Australia including events, accommodation, tours, travel agents, retail, hospitality and wellness and recently celebrated 30 years of promoting and advocating for inclusive tourism.
At the AGM, two Director Board nominations were received with Ben Woodward of the CaPTA Group in Cairns and Mario Paez of Planetdwellers in Sydney each voted on to the GALTA Board, a voluntary team of tourism and travel professionals with extensive experience across the sectors.
The 2025 GALTA Board is:

- Ben Woodward – Director
- Mario Paez – Director
- Rod Stringer – Finance
- Dennis Basham – Membership + Social Media
- Andrew Bartholomew – Corporate Partnerships
- Grace Stubbs – DEI Advocacy + Content
GALTA is also currently seeking interest from those in the tourism and travel PR and media sector to join the Board.
