Regional & Rural Education

Qtopia Sydney is proud to deliver education programs that have been approved by the NSW Department of Education to be linked to school curricula, as well as non-curricula linked programs. From April 2025, these programs will be available not only as excursions for Metro Sydney Schools, but also as incursions for schools across Regional and Rural NSW and the ACT.
Together, we can preserve the stories, celebrate the triumphs and amplify the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether you volunteer your time, donate to our cause or join as a member, your contribution helps shape a brighter, more inclusive future. Let’s create history together—one story, one step, one act of love at a time.

Responding to serious data impacting our youth, that cannot be ignored, Qtopia Sydney’s programs focus on:

  • Identity and mutual respect
  • How to advocate for positive change
  • What inclusion really looks like
  • How true leaders are formed

Change Starts Here

Curriculum Linked in Partnership with the NSW Department of Education.  Curriculum Linked to History, PDHPE and Society and Culture, Stages 4 to 6

Change Starts Here is a program that encourages students to be the change they want to see in the world.

Focusing on themes of advocacy, legacy, and identity, the program educates students about the ways in which social change has been enacted throughout history, while asking them to explore the change happening within their own community.

By examining young advocates that turned their passion into action, students will learn about the ways in which they can use their own voices to incite change – whether it’s at school, in the wider community, or across the world.

Free To Be Me

Non-Curriculum Linked

Free to Be Me is an enriching program that empowers students to express and celebrate their authentic selves, no matter who they are or where they come from.

Focusing on the many ways that make each of us unique, students are encouraged to use storytelling and performance to share their experiences with others, while exploring diverse roles and situations to consider the power of each student’s own voice.

Through activities that stimulate the imagination and invite a sense of play, Free to Be Me builds confidence, promotes creativity, and encourages students to express themselves with pride.

Wondering how you can help make this happen?

There are a range of sponsorship opportunities to assist us in growing this program to more locations across NSW and the ACT, and hopefully, eventually, the country.

Additionally, we are seeking in-kind sponsorship as well. Please contact swhitmont@qtopiasydney.com.au to discuss.
