This event is the first ever read of Saints of Damour, a heart wrenching tale of love and loss. Pierre and Samir’s love story began long before the 1975 Lebanese civil war tore them apart. As the conflict raged on, and with no knowledge of Samir’s whereabouts, Pierre marries Layla, and migrates to Australia. But the pain of separation lingers, and Pierre is left to wonder what might have been. This true Australian story is a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
