The Year I Watched My Mum Die
1 – 2 June 2024
A hilarious and heartwarming story of a son giving up his life in London to come back to Australia to look after his dying mother.
Based on a true story
Written and performed by multi award winning LGBTQIA+ Cabaret Artist and Opera Singer Damien Noyce.
Being a carer for someone is difficult and even more so caring for someone with advanced stages of Parkinson’s Disease. This story is about leaving London in the middle of the lockdown and flying to Australia to look after his dying mother. We cover carer’s guilt, the issues with the care industry, Parkinson’s Disease, siblings and of course grief.
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and be all the more better for the journey.
There is never a dull moment – It’s cabaret, it’s drag, it’s a true story!
