Anni Turnbull has over twenty years experience as a curator at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and the NSW State Library. Anni’s skills are in exhibitions, collection development and interpretation across cultural collections. She has led interdisciplinary teams to create exhibitions and web content at MAAS and the State Library.

Anni’s research areas and expertise include the social history of Sydney and NSW looking at social change and equity. This includes looking at migration, the HIV & AIDS epidemic, environmental issues, sport, diversity, health and significant sites of Sydney in particular the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Anni aims to incorporate people’s stories in Museum and Library collections and make them accessible through oral and video histories, exhibitions, web stories and podcasts.
