Carly is a Director, Producer and the Artistic Director and founder of Theatre Travels.
For the company, Carly has produced 23 shows (2018-2023) and has directed 11. Additionally, Carly has worked with Independent companies around Sydney prioritising new Australian female written works. Carly has toured extensively with various productions, working as Director and/or Producer on shows in New York, Edinburgh, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Darwin and more. This year, Broadway Diva, which she co-created and Directed, performs in London.
Carly has also worked in the Not-for-Profit sector for the past decade for organisations including UNSW, Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Festival, Thread Together, Our Big Kitchen, and more. For the organisations she has worked across event coordination, volunteer management and in program creation aimed at assisting NFPs achieve financial self-sustainability through revenue generation and community engagement.
At the core of her creative practice, Carly is passionate about Directing and Producing Cause-Focused Theatre, that is, theatre that is a call to action and can be used as an educational tool to change minds and attitudes, or to call on change.
