Damien is a cis-gay man, originally from Northern Ireland who moved to Australia in 2001.
He is a registered pharmacist and is currently the Associate HIV Medical Director for Gilead Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company. Damien has spent the last 20 years working across various sectors; community, hospital, academia, government and industry, and in various roles.
He spent 6 years in Darwin working predominantly in Aboriginal Health and has worked in and out of HIV over those 20 years. He was the senior pharmacist at The Albion Centre in Sydney up until 2015 when he moved to Gilead Sciences. In his current role, Damien works closely with people living with HIV and is committed to ending the epidemic, eradicating stigma and educating people on how to be a better ally.
