Tours

Step beyond the gallery walls and experience LGBTQIA+ history where it actually happened. Q TOURS brings the past to life through both our guided exhibition tours and immersive walking experiences, taking you through the streets of Darlinghurst to stand in the exact spaces where pivotal community moments unfolded. Led by passionate guides, it offers an authentic look at the rich social history, activism, and stories embedded in our local neighbourhood.

  • Queer Sydney: Hidden Histories

Embark on an immersive journey through Sydney’s Queer history on a guided walking tour through the heart of Darlinghurst, tracing the path from Hyde Park to Paddington. Uncover the stories behind the legendary venues that defined 'The Golden Mile' during its 1970s and 80s heyday, discover Darlinghurst’s fascinating connection to Captain Moonlite—Australia’s only known gay bushranger—and trace the pivotal events of the inaugural 1978 Mardi Gras march. Along the way, explore how this historic neighbourhood evolved into a vital hub for LGBTQIA+ advocacy, celebration, and community resilience.
