HIV taught us so much, not least about ourselves. We saw approaches in other countries that did not work. We saw in this country magnificent efforts by the affected communities. Not only did they defeat that virus, but they forced an alteration (and they were right) to the way we conducted clinical trials. We are in debt to those communities, a debt which should not be forgotten. The Qtopia project will make sure that we remember that time and those events which were a tribute to the communities involved. We need to remember the people and the notable achievements which they accomplished. We are indebted to the organisers of the Qtopia project – they are helping us to remember great events.
