Star Observer

Sydney Star Observer

The Star Observer exhibition commemorates 45 years of LGBTQIA+ resilience and progress through a visually compelling display of covers that narrate the community’s history.

Spanning over decades, these covers intricately weave together moments of triumph and challenge, serving as a visual narrative of activism, debate, solidarity and the ongoing pursuit of LGBTQIA+ rights.

From milestones like the decriminalisation of homosexuality to the fight for marriage equality and addressing issues of violence, the exhibition not only reflects on the past but also directs attention towards an inclusive future, emphasising the importance of authentic self-expression and continued advocacy.

More than a retrospective, the exhibition acts as a reflective surface, offering a glimpse into the genuine lived experiences, challenges and triumphs of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
