A Pride Month education program for schools.
This June, bring your students into a powerful, real-world learning experience as part of Pride Fest at Qtopia Sydney.
Honour the Past, Create the Future is a curriculum-linked education program developed in consultation with the NSW Department of Education. Designed for Stage 5 and Stage 6 students, the program connects history, identity and activism - inviting young people to explore the legacy of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement and their role in shaping what comes next.
Why this program matters
Pride Month is not just a celebration—it is rooted in a history of protest, resilience and community action. This program helps students understand that history in a meaningful, engaging way, connecting global moments like Stonewall Riots to Australia’s own activism, including the trailblazing Sydney Mardi Gras 1978.
Students will explore how these movements have shaped today’s world—and consider how they can contribute to a more inclusive future.
